How Can I Know That I Am Going To Heaven When I Die?

Realize that there is a living God:

Romans 14:11, "For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."

Realize that you are accountable to God:

Romans 14:12, "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

Realize that God says that you are a sinner:

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Realize that your sins have separated you from God:

Isaiah 59:2, "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear."

Realize the awful consequence of being a sinner:

Revelation 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

Realize God's love for you:

Romans 5:8,9, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."

Realize that eternal life is a gift to be received and not a prize to be earned:

Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Ephesians 2:8,9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

God wants you to repent and be saved:

II Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

Romans 2:4, "Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?"

With repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ, call on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation:

Romans 10:9, 10, 13, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation...For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
